First Skateboard Printed!

So, Printed the first portrait skateboard. Board
is for a friend that I skate with.
Unfortunately not the best quality deck in the world,
but the board is really just meant for the wall, isn't it?
Painting was done in oils.

First Oil Painting in Years

Painted my first oil painting in years.
Was quite refreshing, a well needed break from the laptop.
Pixels will never quite compare to real paint.

Officially the longest painting I have ever painted.
Spent about 3 days painting on and off.
Pretty stocked over this one.

"Whitchurch Wildlife"

So I can officially say that I am finished with this project.
In the end it was decided that, instead of using these paintings
for postcards, they are going to be put up on display in an exhibition.
It was decided that series would be named "Whitchurch Wildlife" due
to the eccentric appearances of the characters featured.
The last painting of the elderly lady is one that I finished
just last night, I wasn't going to include it in the final display
because I was having a terrible time trying to get the portrait
to "look right", I just couldn't get the values correct and painted
repainted it over and over until eventually the correct values
started falling into the right places and the painting started
to resemble something that looked half decent, from then on
it was smooth sailing which lead to a pleasant "all nighter" of
smooth painting amidst the symphonic sounds waves of
Cinematic Orchestra.

Schoolism LIVE in London

So, it's official. I am going to the Schoolism LIVE in London Character Workshop!
Purchased my ticket and now just have to wait it out until the day.
Seriously excited for this because, although I have been to a few
comicons and stuff, I haven't really ever been to any event that
celebrates Illustration to this extent before. I'm pretty sure that I'm
going to walk away from this one with a wealth of new knowledge
and a few new friends of Illustration.
As Jason Seiler says "It's going to be EPIC!"

Caricature of a friend

Still busy practicing caricatures. Spent 9 hours on this
one. With each new painting I'm painting for a bit longer
and pushing it a bit more. The result is a stronger painting I think.
I'm also focusing on achieving a good likeness in
my paintings, taking more time to get it right.
I have also been watching "Sketching with Jason Seiler" Which I highly
recommend to anyone interested in caricature or portrait art.
I owe a great deal of any improvement in my work to that DVD.

Caricature attempt.

Think I'm slowly getting better at caricatures
Although I still have a hard time stepping outside of my
comfort zone, I think I'm getting a bit braver, with each new painting,
when it comes to exaggerating certain features.
